Where Is Far North Forth Worth?

The definition of Far North Fort Worth has somewhat changed in recent years. The term used to refer to the very northernmost portion of Tarrant County, which included towns like Haslet, Keller, Southlake, Saginaw, Melody Hills, Lake Worth, and Eagle Mountain, among others.

  • Northlake: 136.26% growth from 2010 to 2022
  • Roanoke: 74.42% growth since the 2010 census
  • Argyle: 50.31% growth since 2010
  • Saginaw: 28.09% growth since 2010
  • Southlake: 24.36% growth from 2010 to 2022

These suburbs of Fort Worth are seeing more move-ins, with many new residents coming from larger cities in the area, and from other states across the country.

Why the Change?

This shift toward the suburbs shows that the priorities of homebuyers are changing. Since the pandemic, people are spending more time at home, so they are prioritizing more land, larger yards, better community amenities (like pools, parks, walking trails, etc.), and easier access to outdoor recreation. Commute times to the office have become less important since many individuals now work virtually. This means people are more comfortable living farther from urban areas, including Fort Worth and Dallas.
